Creativity and Artistic knack is a wonderful gift to treasure. I am
very grateful to have the ability to turn a vision from thought into
a tangible piece of art. Whether it might be creating a depiction of
a fabulous known face, or bringing to life an image which only
existed in the deepest recesses of my imagination. The triumph is to
be able to convey my thoughts and visions to others through color
and shapes.
I’ve been drawing and painting ever since I can remember. My
greatest joy as a child was to sit and do art. Whatever form it
took. Some forms were just experiments gone badly, like that ashtray
I made in my first ceramic class. It was a good thing nobody smoked
in my family. I remember the joy in my mom’s and dad’s face when I
brought it home, even though I know--they didn’t know what it was
but they complemented me on the wonderful choice of colors and my
mom proceeded to put some small flowers from the garden in it. That
small gesture meant so much. It led me to believe in the art world
you could do no wrong. It gave me a sense of freedom to create
things as I saw or felt without judgment. Art is subject only to
each individual’s unique interpretation. I think that is why I
pursued art throughout my life. Sometimes, I involved myself in art
more actively and other times it hid in the shadows as other
responsibilities took precedent. But, art has always been a passion
deep in my heart.
One thing about being an artist is that you get to reinvent yourself
with every piece you create. And as you develop it develops with
you. What I found is that like any craft the more you practice and
experiment the better the results. Along with the sense of
satisfaction the confidence level will expand. I feel art is part of
my spirit for when I’m drawing or painting my heart seems to rejoice
and I feel in total harmony to self.
Please enjoy the art pieces displayed on the site. I will be
creating more in the future so keep on visiting. In the mean time if
you haven’t tried to draw or paint something lately…why not? Give it
a try, you’ll see how relaxing and rewarding the experience can be.
And, if you find that ceramics or another medium is your thing—go
ahead try it and see what magic is created.
Don’t forget to share your creativity with others. As a matter of
fact, after you’re done with your piece, take a picture and e-mail
it to me. I would love to be one of the first to enjoy your
creation.
Keep your visions alive and immortalize them by rendering them onto
