Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching and is stirring thoughts of family gatherings and fun. Hopefully, fun! I feel there is so much more to been “Thankful.” Thanksgiving should
be a daily occurrence especially in the creative field.
I am thankful for my creative gifts. For experiencing the magic of sitting in front of a computer, putting the thinking cap on and seeing the fingers fly through the keyboard and creating an article, a poem, or even with a lots of finger flying… a book.
How fortunate we are to have that gift. I think we ought to pat ourselves in the back from time to time and really appreciate having this creative gift or talent. Whether you’re a painter, an artist, a designer or any other creative individual, you need to give thanks not only to the external sources but to yourself. To pursue a creative career comes with challenges. There is no denying it. Some days are more challenging to the creative flow than others. With perseverance and determination we can summon the creative muse.
Giving thanks should not be a once a year event. We have so much to be thankful for. Look around at your love ones. Do they nag at you when you go into your space to write or your studio to paint or do they support you in your dream? If they are there for you, encouraging you, they need to be appreciated on a daily basis.
Sometimes the creative journey is one of solitude and introspection. It is because of this much needed requirement that we need to make a conscious effort to appreciate those around us. The energy of acceptance and gratefulness opens up many doors. When we step into that threshold of living our creative life and achieving our creative goals we stand in a high vibration of love, understanding and self-acceptance. We need to share those feelings with those around us. This will incorporate your family and friends into the circle of gratitude and appreciation.
Been creative doesn’t have to be a lonely path. We are born communicators whether we express our thoughts in words or strokes of a brush. We need to express our gratitude for our lifestyle in ways that others can understand. Creative folks are out of the box thinkers we must find a way to share that uniqueness with those around us who matter the most.
As we look forward to gatherings of family and friends let’s open our creative hearts and really share our love. Make this Thanksgiving a new beginning for daily appreciation for our creative soul and for those who stand by us on our Creative Journey.
